The Heirloom Premium Fusible Cotton Blend Batting – Queen Size is designed to simplify quilt preparation while delivering the soft, natural performance quilters love.
This innovative double-sided fusible 80/20 batting allows you to fuse both the quilt top and backing in place with an iron, eliminating the need for traditional pinning or basting.
Made with 80% natural cotton and 20% polyester, this batting is lightly needle-punched and resin bonded for excellent strength and durability.
A light fusible resin coating is applied to both sides, allowing the quilt layers to bond securely during pressing.
The result is a stable quilt sandwich ready for hand or machine quilting with minimal preparation time.

Simply press your quilt from the centre outward, holding the iron in each section for a few seconds to activate the fusible resin.

Using Fusible Cotton Blend Batting
For best results, press the quilt top and backing onto the batting from the centre toward the edges, moving the iron lightly and holding for approximately 3–4 seconds per section.
Allow the quilt to cool completely before beginning quilting.
Close quilting creates a flatter appearance, while wider spacing between stitching lines allows the batting to loft slightly.
Please note: If this batting is pre-washed, the fusible properties will be removed, and it will behave like standard Heirloom Premium 80/20 batting.

Before using fusible batting on an important project, it’s always a good idea to make a small test sample.
This allows you to see how the batting presses, stitches, and launders so you can achieve the exact look you want.
