Collection: Notions - Marking Tools

Make your next step easy to see.

From a temporary seam guide to a permanent name label, choose a marking tool by what the mark needs to do—and how you want to remove it. Pens, chalk, pencils, tracing tools and crease guides each have a place.

Choosing, using & project ideas
  • Temporary marks: Check whether removal needs water, air, heat or brushing; these methods are not interchangeable.
  • Permanent marks: Use a product intended for the surface and follow its drying or setting directions.
  • Test first: Try the mark and its complete removal process on a scrap of the same fabric before marking your project.

Try this: Mark a pocket position, trace a quilting design or label a handmade gift. Keep temporary sewing marks separate from permanent decoration.

FriXion ink becomes invisible with heat; it can return in extreme cold and is not guaranteed suitable for every fabric. Test before use.
