A pair of cheerful cherries, a sunny lemon or a little pear can turn a plain kitchen project into something special. Lori Holt’s Fruit Salad shapes give you a reusable starting point for fruit-themed appliqué in your favourite cotton prints.
What’s in the set
- 15 reusable Sew Simple Shapes templates.
- Designed by Lori Holt of Bee in my Bonnet for Riley Blake Designs.
- Fruit Salad shapes for the Sweetie Pie Sew Along, with circles, fruit and leaf shapes.
- Sturdy plastic shapes for tracing and appliqué preparation, with markings to help with alignment.
A project to imagine
Try a cherry cushion, fruit appliqué tea towels or a small kitchen wall hanging. Repeating the shapes in different prints is a lovely way to give fabric scraps a purpose.
Getting started
Use your chosen appliqué method, or follow Lori’s sew-in interfacing technique and the matching project instructions. The templates help you trace repeated shapes; seam allowances, piecing and assembly follow the instructions for your project. Lori’s Sweetie Pie appliqué tutorial.
The Sweetie Pie quilt also uses a separate Pie Ruler. This listing is for the Fruit Salad templates only. Templates only; fabric, interfacing, thread, other tools and finished items are not included.
Project images are digitally created ideas showing possible uses, not photographs of an included project or an exact pattern supplied with this set. Fabrics, colours and layouts are illustrative.
