Trim a top fabric layer with the help of a broad lower blade. These Famore 4½ inch Duckbill Appliqué Scissors have an offset handle and a paddle-shaped lower blade that supports the fabric beneath the area being trimmed.
Why the wide blade?
Slide the broad lower blade between the layers you want to separate. It helps lift the top fabric away from the background while the narrow upper blade does the cutting. Keep the cutting edge clear of your stitching and check the layer beneath as you work.
Try them for trimming appliqué seam allowances or carefully removing excess fabric around a stitched design. The small size is useful where a larger pair feels cumbersome.
